Ohio Tobacco Quit Line
National Jewish Health is the contracted agent with the Ohio Tobacco Use Prevention and Control Foundation (TUPCF) for the operation and marketing of the Ohio Tobacco Quit Line Pilot Project and the expansion of the program statewide. The Pilot program operations commenced in August 2003 and as of August 2004, TUPCF expanded the program statewide with National Jewish Health as its service provider. National Jewish Health is responsible for all activities related to the marketing and operations of the Ohio Tobacco Quit Line. Since National Jewish Health has full marketing responsibility under this agreement, including multi-media advertising activity (TV, radio and print), public relations events and press relations, National Jewish Health has contracted with Northlich, Inc., a full service marketing and PR firm located in Ohio. In addition to marketing, National Jewish Health is contractually responsible for all operational activity for the call center, including receiving and processing all intake calls; a FAX referral system with healthcare providers; performing a series of five cessation counseling calls within six weeks of the intake call; developing and selecting educational material in support of the needs for all communities in Ohio, as well as for sub-groups within these populations such as pregnant callers and teens; the provision of NRT to qualified participants under specific programs, and program evaluation and outcomes reporting.
