National Jewish Great Place to Be a Postdoc
For the second consecutive year National Jewish has been recognized by The Scientist magazine as one of the best places in the United States for postdoctoral fellows to train, moving up from sixth place in 2007 to second place in 2008. Postdoctoral researchers usually join an established research lab for a few years after earning their PhDs to get more training in a specific area before starting their own research laboratories.
National Jewish ranked particularly high on quality of training and mentoring, value of "postdoc" experience, equity and networking opportunities. National Jewish also rated at the top on family and personal life and quality of communication. Those positive attributes help National Jewish attract the best and the brightest to train and work, and to eventually become the next generation of leaders in biomedical science.
