DENVER, CO - January 18, 2001 - PeopleMed.com, Inc. ("PeopleMed"), a subsidiary of Global Med Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: GLOB), a leading e-health medical information technology company, and National Jewish Medical and Research Center ("National Jewish") one of the world's premier respiratory medical and research centers, have announced plans to jointly launch and develop an advanced and comprehensive Internet based respiratory disease management program. Slated to be operational by July 1, 2001, the new program will combine PeopleMed.com's Internet-based disease management system with National Jewish's proven protocols to focus on asthma and emphysema and other chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD).

The collaboration will allow PeopleMed to have access to National Jewish's intellectual property - recognized as some of the most robust in the industry with respect to respiratory illnesses. All medical information will be integrated into PeopleMed's proprietary DyniSoft™ suite of Internet based disease management products.

"Once this information is incorporated into our Application Service Provider (ASP) model, PeopleMed's DyniSoft suite of products will be able to assist medical professionals in the diagnosis and management of both asthma and COPD," said Michael I. Ruxin, MD, Chairman and CEO of Global Med Technologies and PeopleMed.com. "Ultimately, this program will allow physicians, HMOs, health plans, Medicaid agencies, at-risk employers and disease management companies to have the preeminent in-house disease management program that will greatly improve the quality of life of patients and keep costs down."

"National Jewish has an international reputation for having a strong and growing disease management program. Currently, thousands of patients in 40 states have the ability to access our expertise," said David Tinkelman, MD, vice president of Health Initiatives for National Jewish. "The joint venture with PeopleMed.com will allow us to create one of the most advanced software applications for asthma and COPD disease management programs, reaching even more patients and providing them with critical information about their health."

PeopleMed's disease management products provide medical professionals immediate access to comprehensive clinical information for their patients with chronic disease. Managed care and disease management organizations use PeopleMed's products as a way of managing and monitoring patients who suffer from multiple chronic illnesses or co-morbidities, effectively merging treatment protocols so that they are managed as one complex disease.
