David Engleberg Named Chairman of National Jewish Board

David H. Engleberg has succeeded Lawrence P. Gelfond as Chairman of the Board of Directors of National Jewish Medical and Research Center in Denver.

A National Jewish board member since 1994, Engleberg spent more than 25 years as a healthcare executive, and is now a real estate developer and investor. A native of Salt Lake City, Engleberg received both a BA and MBA from the University of Utah.

Engleberg served on the board of directors and as senior vice president of the one of the nation's largest publicly traded health maintenance organizations. During his career, he has been active in several healthcare organizations in California, Utah and Colorado.

Engleberg has also served as a board member of numerous nonprofit organizations, including List College in New York City and the United Jewish Appeal, both in Colorado and nationally.

Engleberg and his wife Charlene live in Englewood, Colorado, and are the parents of four grown children.

Founded in 1899, National Jewish is the only medical and research center in the United States devoted entirely to respiratory, allergic and immune system diseases, including asthma, tuberculosis, emphysema, severe allergies, lupus and other autoimmune diseases.
