Reference Interval
Present; IL-12R is expressed on activated T cells of normal individuals.
Interpretation
Mutations of the IL-12receptor can lead to increased susceptibility to infections with intracellular organisms such as mycobacteria and salmonella. Analysis of the IL-12 receptor expression on peripheral blood T cells assists in the immunological evaluation of patients with chronic or disseminated mycobacterial or salmonella infections.
