Ric Clark with Brookfield Property Partners to Be Honored by Real Estate and Construction Industries

A Winter’s Evening Dinner Dance Benefiting National Jewish Health Will Also Establish a Fund for Cutting-Edge Research in Clark’s Name

New York’s most notable leaders in the Real Estate and Construction Industries will gather to honor the accomplishments of Brookfield Property Partners’ Ric Clark at “A Winter’s Evening” Dinner Dance on Dec. 13, 2014, at the Grand Hyatt New York. The event attracts prominent professionals including Dinner Chairs John Zuccotti and Jonathan Mechanic, and past Honorees Larry Silverstein and Marc Holliday. It benefits National Jewish Health, the leading respiratory hospital in the nation.
 

Clark will receive the National Jewish Health Humanitarian Award, the institution’s highest recognition for distinguished service. Last year’s award recipients were Silverstein and his wife, Klara.
 
Clark is a senior managing partner of Brookfield Asset Management and the global head of its real estate business. He is also chief executive officer of the Brookfield Property Group, a subsidiary of Brookfield that holds its real estate investments globally, primarily through the flagship publicly listed company, Brookfield Property Partners.

Clark has been with Brookfield’s real estate group and its predecessors and affiliates since 1984 in various senior roles. He is also on the board of the Real Estate Roundtable, a long-time board member of the Mental Health Association of New York City, and board chair of the National Eating Disorders Association. Clark holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
 
In honor of Clark, the event will also establish The Ric Clark Fund for Cutting-Edge Pilot Studies and Bridge Research. The Fund will support physicians and scientists at National Jewish Health who want to begin and continue their important research and discover solutions for patients struggling with respiratory, cardiac, immune and related diseases around the world. It will also ensure that the institution can recruit and retain scientific talent whose research today will lead to tomorrow’s discoveries.
 
For decades, New Yorkers have had a history of involvement with National Jewish Health – both as patients and supporters. In January, National Jewish Health and Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai will open the Mount Sinai | National Jewish Health Respiratory Institute in New York. The Institute will provide care for patients with respiratory and related diseases, conduct research and expand teaching programs.

The leadership of Real Estate and Construction Industries Dinner, now in its 45^th year, reflects New York’s legacy of broad support for the Denver-based institution.
