Allergist Dr. Brian Modena Joins National Jewish Health


DENVER, CO —

Allergist Dr. Brian Modena Joins National Jewish HealthBrian Modena, MD, MSc, has joined the nationally recognized faculty at National Jewish Health in the Division of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. He comes to National Jewish Health from Scripps Health and Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, CA. Dr. Modena specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of hives, food and environmental allergies, asthma and immune system deficiencies. Additionally, he will conduct research at National Jewish Health with a focus on asthma, genomic science, and the human microbiome. Dr. Modena has authored numerous research articles in asthma and organ transplantation, and is currently supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to study the genetic underpinnings of asthma exacerbated respiratory disease (AERD), a severe subtype of asthma. He will see patients on the National Jewish Health main campus.
 

Dr. Modena received his medical degree at West Virginia University School of Medicine. He completed his clinical fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and Children’s Hospital Pittsburgh. Additionally, Dr. Modena earned a Master of Science in Translational and Genomic Research at Kellogg School of Science and Technology – The Scripps Research Institute.
