Dr. Ellen Volker Joins National Jewish Health to Lead Interventional Pulmonology
Denver, CO —
Ellen Volker, MD, MSPH, has joined the renowned pulmonary faculty at National Jewish Health in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. She comes to National Jewish Health from St. Mary’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Grand Junction, Colorado. Dr. Volker serves as the Director of Interventional Pulmonology at National Jewish Health. She specializes in minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat diseases in and around the lungs. These diseases include lung cancer, lung nodules, cancers that have spread to the lungs, enlarged lymph nodes in the chest, central airway obstructions, pleural effusions, and emphysema. Dr. Volker has participated as a co-investigator in a number of research projects and has authored several publications. She sees patients on the National Jewish Health main campus.
Dr. Volker received her medical degree at the University of Colorado. She completed clinical fellowships in Interventional Pulmonology and Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Duke University. Additionally, Dr. Volker earned a Master of Science in Public Health University of Colorado. In her position at St. Mary’s Hospital, she served as the director of Advanced Pulmonary Diagnosis and of Lung Cancer Screening.
