Hara Levy, MD, MMSc, to Lead National Jewish Health for Kids Pulmonary Division

Hara Levy, MD, MMSc, has joined the pediatrics faculty at National Jewish Health, where she will serve as Chief of the Division of Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine. She comes to National Jewish Health from her role as the Research Director of Pediatric Pulmonology at the Ann & Robert Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Dr. Levy will see patients clinically and conduct research at the National Jewish Health main campus. She will also provide pulmonary consultation for patients at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children. Dr. Levy is trained in both pediatric and adult medicine. Her clinical interests include cystic fibrosis, transition from pediatric to adult care and diagnostic dilemmas.

After her undergraduate studies at Stanford University, Dr. Levy earned her MD at the Medical College of Wisconsin and her Master of Medical Sciences at Harvard Medical School. She completed her clinical fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine at Children’s Hospital Boston and her residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

In addition to treating patients, Dr. Levy’s work at National Jewish Health will include translational research into the genetics of cystic fibrosis. Specifically, Dr. Levy’s research investigates the genes and proteins that define a cystic fibrosis patient’s clinical course and treatment response. She spearheads several research projects and has co-authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications.
