Event Raises 1.8 Million for National Jewish Health

The 53^rd Annual National Jewish Health ‘A Winter’s Evening’ Dinner Dance was held Saturday, December 11, 2021, in a winter wonderland at The Glasshouse, raising $1.8 Million for The Danielle and Ben Brown Family Fund for Pediatric Respiratory Care and Research at National Jewish Health, the nation’s leading respiratory hospital. The black-tie gala honored Ben Brown, Managing Partner, and Head of U.S. Office, Brookfield Properties, Inc., with the National Jewish Health Humanitarian Award.

“We are proud to honor Ben with this prestigious award, which recognizes individuals who have made significant civic and charitable contributions,” said Michael Salem, MD, president and CEO of National Jewish Health.  “Ben’s professional leadership and contributions to our organization are remarkable, and we are thrilled to have him as our award recipient.”

Ric Clark of WatermanCLARK, himself a past recipient of the honor, introduced Brown and presented the award to him. Roger Silverstein, executive vice president at Silverstein Properties, Inc., participated as well.

Wendy Siegel, executive chair for the event and co-chair of the National Jewish Health Council of National Trustees, inspired and guided the Winter Wonderland themed evening, including snow, a stunning pallet of shades of white throughout, and 7 foot flocked trees hanging from the ceiling. Guests enjoyed a winter-themed cocktail, with strolling dinner and desserts. They danced to the sounds of a fabulous DJ and a special light show. Wendy has planned and successfully executed the event for the past 28 years.
