The treatment of CD and UC can involve one or more types of medications. These include: 

  • 5-Aminosalicylates and Antibiotics
  • Corticosteroids
  • Immunomodulators
  • Biologics (TNF antagonists)


Depending on the patient’s medical team, the approach to treatment can begin with either the most aggressive form of treatment first or the least aggressive.
