Diesel Exhaust Can Predispose Unborn Babies to Asthma
National Jewish Health, Researcher Magdalena Gorska, MD, wants to determine how diesel exhaust that a mom inhales during her pregnancy can cause her unborn baby to be prone to developing asthma.

What we have learned is if mother inhales diesel exhaust particles before pregnancy or during pregnancy the offspring can develop predisposition to asthma and what we are searching for now, we are trying to identify cells and molecules which are changed by diesel exhaust particles in offspring and how these changes affect predisposition to asthma in offspring.
