Summer Camp for Chronically-Ill Children
Every year, thanks to our generous supporters, Morgridge Academy provides summer camp sessions for interested students.
These sessions focus on providing fun, hands-on-learning, that generally happens outside the classroom. Since most of the students have chronic health conditions, summer camp activities are planned to protect their health.
Through field trips, special events and more, students learn about science, technology, health and life. Other activities such as reading buddies and math/reading intervention help students to maintain and improve academics over the summer.
Physical education also continues with swimming in our warm water pool and with unique activities outside that help students maintain the physical health they gained during the school year.
While at camp, students receive a healthy breakfast and lunch every day. They maintain the school garden and take home fresh produce for their families to enjoy.
