Description
This quantitative test, performed with a 24-hour urine specimen, may help screen for hypercalciuria, one of the established risk factors for kidney stone formation.
Collect
Collect a 24 hour urine sample.
Pediatric Collection
Minimum Volume: 0.3 mL aliquot of urine from a well-mixed 24 hour collection.
Storage Transport Temp
Offsite: Frozen. Send urine aliquot Priority Overnight via FedEx and in a well insulated container on dry ice.
Stability
Analyze Immediately at RT (15-25°C)
48 hours refrigerated at 2-8°C
Notes
24 hour urine specimen is the only acceptable sample type.
