Clean catch random urine [sterile urine cup] is the only acceptable sample type.
First morning void is preferred.

Specimen Preparation

Aliquot urine into a labeled polypropylene or similar plastic tube.

Preferred volume:12 mL of urine

Pediatric Collection

Minimum volume: 2.0 mL urine

Storage Transport Temp

Offsite: Frozen. Send urine aliquot Priority Overnight via FedEx and in a well insulated container on dry ice.

Stability

Process ASAP at RT (15-25°C)
24 hours refrigerated at 2-8°C
>24 hours frozen at ≥ -20°C

Notes

24 hour collections are not acceptable.
