Description
This assay is intended to be used as an aid in the diagnosis of HIV-1/HIV-2 infection, including acute or primary HIV-1 infection. The assay may also be used as an aid in the diagnosis of HIV-1/HIV-2 infection in pediatric subjects (i.e., children as young as two years of age) and in pregnant women.
Collect
Lavender Top EDTA Plasma.
Pediatric Collection
Minimum volume: 0.1 mL serum
Storage Transport Temp
Offsite: Frozen. Send serum Priority Overnight via FedEx and in a well insulated container on dry ice.
Stability
Stability after cell separation:
3 days at RT (15-25°C)
7 days refrigerated at 2-8°C
> 7 days frozen at ≤ -20°C
