Specimen Preparation

Onsite [NJH]: Transport to lab within 1 hour.
Preferred volume: 1 mL aliquot of urine from a well mixed 24 hour collection in a labeled polypropylene or similar plastic tube.

Pediatric Collection

Minimum volume: 1 mL of urine from a well mixed 24 hour urine collection in a labeled polypropylene or simiilar plastic tube.

Storage Transport Temp

Offsite: Frozen. Send serum Priority Overnight via FedEx and in a well insulated container on dry ice.

Stability

Analyze Immediately at RT (15-25°C)
48 hours refrigerated at 2-8°C

Notes

24 hour urine sample is the only acceptable sample type.
