Welcome to National Jewish Health’s Medical Staff Services website!

The Medical Staff Services team is responsible for the following aspects of new provider preparation:

  • Credentialing and privileging for patient care at NJH

  • Coverage on our malpractice policy if applicable to your role at NJH

  • Enrollment to bill Medicare, Colorado Medicaid, and all contracted managed care plans

  • Requesting and facilitating your applications for privileges at NJH partner facilities if applicable to your NJH practice (initiated after receipt of your NJH application materials)

The application you submit will allow us to address all of these elements, which must be in place for your planned start date. Credentialing & Privileging Coordinator, Roseann Rodriguez, will be in touch with you throughout the process.

Providers must have an offer of employment, or executed contract with National Jewish Health. We will not process applications that do not meet this requirement.

What to Expect

  1. Complete your online application through our portal and upload all required documentation.  It is VERY important that we have accurate email addresses for the facilities and people named in your application because we email requests to primary source verify the information.  Please email us if you have questions as you complete the forms. To do so, click here: credentialing@njhealth.org

  2. Ms. Rodriguez will audit your submission, and send a follow-up email acknowledging our receipt of your application and detailing any items still needed.

  3. In advance of your start date, you will receive an email from the CMS Identity & Access System (I&A). You must accept the connection request to NJH as the final step required to deem your application complete. This allows us to submit a Medicare application so NJH can bill for your services.

  4. Roseann Rodriguez will primary source verify every element related to your professional career dating back to completion of your practice-related degree program.

  5. When complete, your application is reviewed through a standing committee process that includes the Credentialing & Privileging Committee, Medical Executive Committee, and NJH Board of Directors.  Only the Board of Directors can grant privileges to provide patient care.

  6. Your NJH privileges, malpractice insurance, and managed care enrollment are all effective the first day of the month following Board of Directors approval, and within 60 days of your application being deemed complete.
