Primary Investigator
Dr. De Benedetto (Dr. D) is originally from Italy. After completing medical school and dermatology residency, she moved to the United States to continue her training in dermatology and pursue a career as a clinician scientist. Being primarily a physician, Dr. D truly enjoys being able to provide care to her patients in the general dermatology clinic. When she does not work in the clinic, she is actively involved in dermatology translational and basic science research. Her research mainly focuses in the area of Atopic Dermatitis and investigating the cross-talk between skin barrier and immune system. Being able to translate clinical challenges to research questions and to bring it back to the patient is her major goal and inspiration.
