Clinical research is critical to understanding diseases and improving treatment methods. For more than 80 years, National Jewish Health has been conducting research that has led to new, improved treatments for a number of diseases. The Weinberg Clinical Research Unit focuses primarily on respiratory conditions. We entered the 21st century as the only institution in the world dedicated exclusively to this research of allergy, asthma, COPD/emphysema and sleep disorders as well as immune and autoimmune conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis and cystic fibrosis.

National Jewish Health is committed to continuing our role as a world leader in research. We strive continually to improve our technology and capabilities.

Without volunteers participating in clinical research studies, prescription and over-the-counter medications would never be FDA approved and available to the public. The Clinical Research Unit at National Jewish Health conducts clinical research in the following areas of specialty: asthma, allergies, COPD, emphysema, rheumatoid arthritis, cystic fibrosis, sarcoidosis, bronchiectasis and sleep disorders.

Qualified Clinical Research Participants will receive:

  • Possible financial compensation for time and travel

  • Convenient location and appointment times

  • Disease-related education

If you are interested in participating in a clinical trial, please fill out our Patient Study Application. The CRU performs several studies at a time and your information will help us determine for which studies you may be a candidate.
