Angina, or angina depending on which part of the country you live in, is chest pain typically, but can be any symptom of discomfort above the waist that comes on with activity or any stressful event.
Believe it or not, emotional stress can bring on angina in some folks.
So, in general, the old classification from the 1970’s and earlier still is true today.
Chest symptoms and discomforts that can be provoked with activity and resolved with rest or emotional stress should be considered angina, especially in people of higher risk.
