Michael Schonbrun is the Founder, President and CEO of Balfour Senior Care, LLC dba Balfour Senior living, a senior housing development and management company based in Louisville, Colo.
  
Prior to founding Balfour, Mr. Schonbrun had been with Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Colorado, the national hospice company, Vitas, and consulted with several venture capital firms.  He served National Jewish Health from 1979 to 1991, first as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer and, starting in 1982, as President.

Mr. Schonbrun received a bachelor’s degree from Yale University and his juris doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Schonbrun served as the Board of Directors Chairman of the Alzhheimer’s Association Rocky Mountain Chapter and is an active member of the National Leadership Council of the Assisted Living Federation of America.  He has also served as Chairman of the Boards of the Metro Denver Air Pollution Council, the Governor’s Economic Development Commission of the Healthcare Industry and Denver United Way Campaigns for the health care industry; and on the Board of the Executive Committee of the 1988 Colorado Winter Olympic Games Organizing Committee, the Boulder Library Commission, the Colorado Association of Home and Services for the Aging, and the International Medical Corps. He served as a special health care advisor to three governors and directed the state of Colorado’s nursing home licensure and certificate of need programs.

Mr. Schonbrun is married to Susan Juroe and has three sons.
