Board of Directors: Daniel Yohannes

The Honorable Ambassador Daniel Yohannes is a businessman and philanthropist, who previously served on the National Jewish Health Board of Directors from 1995 through 2009. In his extensive career, he served from 2014 to 2017 as the U.S. Ambassador to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), an international forum promoting economic growth, prosperity, sustainable development and energy security through better policies. Prior to that appointment, he served as CEO of Millennium Challenge Corporation, an independent U.S. foreign aid company.

Before his government service, former Ambassador Yohannes worked in the financial services industry as president of M&R Investments, as well as other roles at U.S. Bank, Colorado National Bank and Security Pacific Bank. In July 2006, then Mayor John Hickenlooper appointed Yohannes to be Co-Chair of the Greenprint Council, a group charged with overseeing the city of Denver’s sustainability plan.

Born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopa, Yohannes immigrated to the United States at the age of 17 and earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Claremont McKenna College and an M.B.A. from Pepperdine University.
